A Little Organzing

This day finds me finishing up on Mt. Washmore and preparing a few spaces for homeschooling.

Do you have a junk drawer?  I have several, including some junk "spaces".  These areas are rarely seen by the outside public. but I have a couple that have been slowly filling up to capacity!

When I moved my teaching stuff back home, it remained in the back of the van for a week or so, then it graduated to the garage floor for a couple of weeks more.  Finally, the hubs moved the majority of it into the attic, but some of it is still sitting in my makeshift piano studio/occasional dining room.

What is a piano studio/dining room, you may ask?  Well, 99.9% of the year, this room serves as my piano studio.  I have an amazing Yamaha Clavinova to teach with, and for the waiting parents, a comfy couch across the room to recline on as they listen to their little protegees tickle the ivories.

The room is used the other .1% for family/holiday gatherings.  The hubs, plus a combination of brothers & nephews carry the piano & couch to our bedroom and then schlep the dining room table from it's basement storage to set it up front & center.  We leave it there for the remainder of the family's visit, making sure to return everything to it's proper place before they leave. (That way, I don't have to move it back ~ after all, isn't that what all that testosterone is for?  Might as well put it to good use!)

Back to the organizing ~ I know it may not seem like there's a lot pictured, but I assure you that there is a ton of desk stuff in that laundry basket! I have to try to find a place for all those little pushpins, post-its, and other desk accessories, which leads me to have to organize this:

That top shelf is all my piano books and student books.  The bottom shelf is my teacher editions for homeschooling 1st Grader, plus gold chargers I used for ~ ahem ~ Easter dinner.  Yes, I know Easter was several months ago ~ don't judge!  What's inside the cabinet, you may wonder?  Trust me, you don't want to know.  I don't want to know ~ that's why the little pile has been sitting there for a couple of weeks!

Seriously, it's starting to get to me.  It's embarrassing to have this greet my piano students each week!  I have 4 new students beginning this week so I have to ~ make that MUST! ~ get it done!  Since I'm going to be slaving away on this project, I've decided that tonight's dinner is going to be my favorite take-out ~ Springfield-style cashew chicken! (Deb, if you're reading this, don't be too jealous now ~ I'll be thinking of you as I enjoy every bite!)

Do you have any areas that need organization?  Feel free to share.  I welcome your comments!
