Summer ~ Break!

Today marks the 1st official day of Summer break.  My summer break, that is.  The kiddos are going to spend the next 4 weeks in Summer School.  Teenager will begin her freshman year in the Fall, so she's getting a head start by taking some 1/2 credit courses.  This will also give her an opportunity to check out the high school (It's so huge and so plain the hubs & I call it the Ozark Penitentiary) and get acquainted with where her classes will be.  It's SO much bigger than good old Willard High circa 1982!

Bubby wasn't thrilled about summer school, but once he learned he had a male teacher and, I quote, "The best math teacher in the whole upper elementary", he seemed to be in better spirits.  Whew!

Popsicle also will attend summer school.  She was excited beyond measure ~ in fact, she had decided what she was going to wear 2 weeks ago and carefully laid her clothes out "just so" last night.

I'm completely amazed how much time I now have on my hands.  With Popsicle at home, school takes 1st precedence until after lunch.  I had no idea how quiet the house can be!  I spent this morning taking my daily walk ~ I did Zumba for the 1st time without an audience (no inappropriae laughing or comments)  ~ I even ate a sandwich, grapes and drank water without sharing a thing. A girl could get used to this!
